Our global influence is slowly falling
Foreign efforts are widely sprawling
It is interesting we still identify as a beacon of hope
While the lighthouse keeper is a total dope
Our bulb is growing quite dim
The sea that it shines on is growing quite slim
Learners carry around Chinese character covered bags
Donated by the businessman building a new drag
Influence isn't a product of policy or laws
It is in the eye of the beholder who draws
Their conclusion on if you even really care
If they start the next day breathing clean air
We have become a behemoth, doing little but expect
Entitled to decide on what happens next
Influence is a two way street, participate we must
Constantly proving our merit to be worthy of trust
School bags may seem small in the grand scheme
Read between the lines to understand what it means:

get a strong education and lets see what good we can do."
