It doesn't take that much effort to smile.

Your job at its core is just to care,
yet I've seen you put more work into your fake hair.
Indifference.
You show up smelling like last night,
And those are the days that you even come at all, that shit ain't right.
Indifference.
Here I though I'd be the one doing damage,
not looking the same & speaking a different language.
Indifference.
End of the semester come,
and it is blatantly obvious this is where none of you are from.
Indifference.
Holiday here isn't so bad, but it doesn't make sense,
For they make it seem like I'm about to go through hell, stuck here on jail sentence.
Indifference.
This isn't just a paycheck, you gotta connect & empathize.
If that isn't what you signed up for, find a new gig and move on with your lives.
